What You Will Do:

Southern Cross has immediate openings for Entry-Level Field Technician (Gas Module Exchange and Gas meter exchange and re-lights) You will be responsible for the replacement of gas modules and gas meter exchange and re-lights to include driving daily as required by assigned geographic areas. You will also be expected to process the required data accurately and meet all required completion dates. We will provide step-by-step training to ensure you are comfortable with the process and have a solid understanding of work expectations.

The location of work will be Strasburg Ohio and surrounding areas.
• New candidates will report to the Warehouse location at:

9081 US-250 Strasburg, OH 44680

• Company vehicles are provided for daily use (pick up/drop off)

Responsibilities include:

• Manage daily assigned tasks for safety, quality, and efficiency to exceed customer expectations
• Schedule and plan work efficiently
• Follow all safety rules, organizational policies, and procedures
• Keep Operator Qualifications current
• Interact with the public, client’s customers, and client’s personnel professionally, respectfully, and cordially
• Accurately complete task reports and work-related reports in a timely manner
• Protect, inspect, and maintain assigned equipment and vehicle

Education and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical aptitude and past/former technical training are a plus
• Computer or Smart Phone literate
• Able to read maps and navigate to and from work locations
• Adept at using hand tools and equipment

Requirements:

• Complete all Operator Qualification training/testing pertaining to meter work/meter reading to proceed with employment
• Primary speaking language should be English
• Required to pass background check and drug screening prior to hire
• Must have a good driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
• Must be able/willing to travel locally (Possible overnight travel on occasion)
• Physically able to bend, squat and move heavy objects; use a pipe wrench/other hand tools; lift and reach overhead

Rate of pay:

• $25/hr. with a .50 cent raise after 60 days and again after 180 days.

Work Schedule:

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift

Physical Requirements:

Bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking several miles per day; carry up to 20lbs of equipment; be able to effectively communicate with customers in a courteous manner displaying excellent customer service and perform other duties as assigned; Performs all work in a safe manner; Observes and follows all company/client procedures; Possess excellent customer service/communication skills; Be available for overtime (which may include weekends); Be comfortable using computers/technology.
